Tyrell family unhappy with Schapelle's handbag

WILLIAM Tyrrell's family are "not happy" that Schapelle Corby promoted the missing toddler to the world's media during her chaotic departure from Bali.

Corby emerged from her Kuta home with an image of the missing boy prominently displayed on her handbag, which she used to shield her face from the hundreds of cameras and journalists.

The photograph used was of William in a Spider-Man outfit, aged 3 - the same outfit he was wearing when he was abducted from the Mid North Coast of NSW in 2014.

In a post shared on the official Facebook page for the missing boy, his loved ones wrote: "While the Where's William Campaign appreciates that Schapelle Corby has shown concern regarding little William's disappearance and in using her release as a convicted offender from Bali as a media opportunity to increase awareness that William is still missing, we are not happy.

"William's family and their campaign to support the NSW Police in their investigation in the search for William have absolutely no association with Schapelle Corby, her supporters or her family and had no prior knowledge of Miss Corby's intention to use William's image in this way.

"While the Where's William Campaign aims to increase awareness where possible, this situation regarding Miss Corby has no association whatsoever to William, his loved ones or their campaign to find their little boy."

Where's William? campaign director Clare Collins told The Sunday Telegraph about the family's surprise on seeing Schapelle's handbag last night, before sharing a Facebook post clarifying their unhappiness at the move.

The Telegraph was reliably informed the Corbys wanted to use the intense media interest to promote the effort to find William.
