Uncle Jed promises to funk it up on album

UNCLE Jed promises something for everyone on their next album.

The Australia's Got Talent winners will use their $250,000 grand prize to help with the production of their sophomore album, which the trio had been working on before going on the TV talent show.

Brothers Shannon and Danny Stitt, and their cousin Laura, were crowned the 2013 AGT winners last night, beating out 11 other acts, including runners up Greg Gould & The Chase.

"You never really know how it's going to go. It was very nerve-racking for us," Laura, a former backing singer to Jessica Mauboy, told APN.

"We had no idea which way it was going to go."

While many of Uncle Jed's Australia's Got Talent performances were acoustic and moody renditions of songs like Matt Corby's Brother and Ed Sheeran's Give Me Love, the group will show its versatility on its new album.

"A few tunes will be in the same moody vibe, but there will be a bit more soul stuff, more funky influenced songs," Danny said.

"It's going to be pretty versatile. There will be something in there for everyone.

"Certain songs are going to be stripped back but there will also be full band stuff as well. We'll have the full band for the live gigs as well."

Originally from Coffs Harbour, the trio can't wait to take its new music on the road.

"We can't wait to get back up there (Coffs Harbour) and do a massive, kick-ass gig," Danny said.

And expect to see the band's namesake, Laura's dad Jed and their "number one fan", at their live shows.

"He came out with us to the after party and he was the life of the party," Laura said.

"He's loving it."
