Uni boss ready to show vision

CQUNIVERSITY'S vice-chancellor tomorrow will outline his vision for the university, and he would love to hear from you.

Central Queenslanders are being encouraged to join a live webcast presentation about the region which will be hosted by Professor Scott Bowman.

Professor Bowman said he would highlight the importance of regional universities and the impact they had on the region, using CQUniversity as an example of good practice.

He said the university was in a good position to move forward and the region was going from “strength to strength”.

“We are making a big investment in the university to bring on more programs we need which will give us more students,” he said yesterday.

“We are looking to grow CQUniversity and will work in partnership with the community to see what programs they want to do and what programs employers want us to do.”

Professor Bowman will take e-questions after his talk about community partnerships and CQUniversity's growing role throughout all of CQ over the next 5 to 10 years.

The event will be held at 5.45 pm on the university's website at www.cqu.edu.au or via Professor Bowman's blog at http://www.vc-cquniversity.blogspot.com.
