1pm: The Fitzroy Developmental Road north of Dingo is closed at Duckworth Creek.

10am: Livingstone Shire Council crews are continuing the clean-up following the weekend's wet weather which caused a number of roads to be cut and houses to lose power across the region.

The deep, upper low pressure system has dumped heavy rain across the Capricorn Region since Friday evening, with some areas of Livingstone receiving in excess of 300mm of rain in 48 hours.

As a result, a number of roads remain closed due to flooding including:

     Taranganba Road

    Artillery Road

    Coorooman Creek Bridge - Cawarral

    Stanley Avenue at Barmaryee

    Cabbage Tree Creek at Cawarral

    Cobraball Road

Deputy Mayor Graham Scott said drivers were urged to use extreme caution at a number of areas where flood water is over the road and pot holes may have developed including Clayton's Road at Mulambin.

"We have received reports of drivers ignoring and road closed signs. Emergency Services had to pull a driver from flood water at the Coorooman Creek Floodway in Cawarral and we are urging all motorists to adhere to the signs and stay out of flood water for their own safety," he said.

"The worst of the wet weather seems to be behind us although the Bureau of Meteorology is advising that some areas could still receive falls of up to 60mm today.

"Council also closed a number of Waste Transfer Station during the worst of the weather including Byfield, Marlborough and Cawarral.

8.30am: Main Roads reports the Bruce Highway is now open north of Marlborough but a number of other  roads remain closed due to flooding across the region.

Authorities are urging motorists  to be careful after reports of vehicles driving into floodwater.

Police have asked council to put up road closures signs at Artillery Road east of Rockhampton after a sedan was found submerged this morning.

The Bulletin understands the 64-year-old Yeppoon owner of the car was located safe and well after initial concerns for his well being.
