With six candidates for division six, the fight for the seat came mostly down to just two candidates. After Greg Belz chose not to stand for division six again, the race was left with no standing councillor for the seat. Drew Wickerson has a very decisive lead, with 2050 votes (30.97%) with two booths left to count. Next is Wade Ferricks (1280 votes) followed by Alan Cornick (1057 votes), Bruce Simpson (1072 votes), Marcus Holmes (858 votes) and Eric Lewis (302 votes).
The hot seat in Rockhampton at the moment is definitely division seven - with the standings too close to call.
