Water about two metres deep covered the road, but the driver and sole occupant was able to get out and make it back to dry land.

Police, fire and rescue, the RACQ and Rockhampton Regional Council representatives were called to the scene and the van was towed from the water.

Details about road closures in the Rockhampton district are currently being sought from Rockhampton Regional Council.
