Victoria Parade to reopen today for Festive Season

CONSTRUCTION works on Victoria Parade will cease today, to allow full traffic access during the Christmas and New Year period.

The road will remain open until early January 2016.

Mayor Margaret Strelow said the working crews have made tremendous progress since starting the project in late October.

"The upgrade of Victoria Parade is coming on in leaps and bounds and we are so pleased with the progress made already," Mayor Strelow said.

"New kerb and channelling, some electrical conduits and stormwater drainage have been installed."

Signage will advise of any changes to the road's access prior to works recommencing on 4 January 2016.

Quay Street will remain one way in a south to north direction during this period
