Victoria siege: 'Armed' man holed up in bakery

POLICE have been brought in to negotiate with a man, reportedly armed with a gun, who has holed himself up in a bakery on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula.

Victoria Police were called to a cafe on the corner of Point Nepean Road and Ozone Road in Rye about 7:30am.

They believe there is one other person inside the property and officers have cordoned off the area.
