VIDEO: Shocking footage shows battle between drivers

SHOCKING footage of two motorists refusing to give way on a busy Toowoomba street has emerged.

The battle took place on Stenner St after the notorious intersection on Ruthven St.

The bottle-neck is often the scene of road rage and close calls as west-bound motorists merge from two lanes into one near the turn-off to KFC.

In the video, the motorists take it to the next level, jousting alongside each other more than 100m down the street.

Finally one of the cars gives way and allows the other forward.

The video was uploaded to YouTube channel Rosie's Dashcam with the title " Dashcam: Merging in Toowoomba road bullying".

"Sometimes trying to (legally) merge in Toowoomba is akin to insulting people's ancestors. Merge at own risk," the caption read.

Sgt Renae Crowe from Toowoomba Police said it was important motorists remained patient and courteous to other road users.

"Merge in turn and try not to cut other motorists off," she said.
