Beachgoers watch as Virgin plane has close call with Cessna
A VIRGIN Australia plane has had to take evasive action to avoid a light aircraft while landing at Gold Coast Airport, News Ltd reports.
The Boeing 737 was visible to beachgoers as it took a sharp turn before a Cessna came too close.
Witnesses nearby told the Courier-Mail that the plane pulled out over the beach at the 'last minute'.
"It peeled towards the beach a few hundred metres above houses and then we saw a smaller aircraft taking off," a witness told the Courier-Mail.
"The bigger jet was flying really low and fast.
"Everyone was talking about it. It looked like if the Virgin plane had not pulled out there could have been a big problem. They were very close to each other."
