Walk back in history at the Village Markets on March 10
WHETHER you want to browse stalls or ride on the vintage vehicles, Rockhampton Heritage Village Markets have plenty to see and do for all ages.
The next markets will be held on Sunday, March 10.
Chair of Rockhampton Regional Council's Communities Committee Cr Rose Swadling said the Heritage Village Markets were a great opportunity for residents and visitors not only to browse the markets but also to have a look at the Heritage Village itself.
"With upwards of 200 market stalls selling everything from plants and fruit and vegies to fashion and furniture, you will be spoilt for choice," she said.
Cr Swadling said that one of the big drawcards was the stagecoach and vintage motor vehicle rides.
"The markets are a working day for the village so you will able to walk through the various buildings and, for $2.50, take a ride on some of our restored vehicles including stagecoach, fire engine and vintage cars," she said.
The Rockhampton Heritage Village Markets will be held from 8am to 1.30pm. Entry is $2 per person with under 14 year olds free. Rides on vintage vehicles cost $2.50.
The Rockhampton Heritage Village is at 296 Boundary Rd (corner Boundary Rd and Bruce Highway) at Parkhurst just after the Yeppoon Rd turn-off.
Ample off-street car parking is available off Boundary Rd.
