War of words continues as deamalgamation vote looms
DEAMALGAMATION advocate, Cr Tom Wyatt and CCIM chairman Paul Lancaster are slamming anti-deamalgamation advertising campaign, One Capricorn, as a scare campaign from Rockhampton-based, big business interests.
One Capricorn spokesman, Geoff Murphy says they are the ones not projecting the truth.
"The facts are there in the Queensland Treasury Corporation report…they're there for everyone to see."
Cr Wyatt says the group is the same big business interests who ran a massive advertising campaign about how great forced amalgamation was going to be.
"Our community does not need Rocky millionaires telling us how we should vote, and people are rightly saying, just who do they think they are," Cr Wyatt said.
Mr Murphy told The Morning Bulletin he represents a group of about 33 people.
"But I've said it's up to them if they want to put their hand up.
"I have an obligation to put the message forward," he said.
"Everyone is interested to know who is in our group, but no-one asking who is in CCIM."
