WATCH: Bill Shorten promises millions to support Beef Week

LABOR has pledged an extra $3.1 million for Beef Week 2018 in Rockhampton.

Opposition leader Bill Shorten has made the pledge while visiting the Beef Capital today.

 

Beef Week, run by Beef Australia, is held every three years in Rockhampton and attracts thousands of people to the region - from graziers to international investors.

"Beef Week is not just important for Rockhampton and Australia," Mr Shorten said.

"This is a global event.

"The beef industry in Australia should be a source of national pride."
