Water supply OK - but stock up

CLEAN drinking water will remain available to residents throughout the floods, the Local Disaster Management Group says.

However, at a briefing this morning, Rockhampton Regional Council Mayor Brad Carter said residents should still stock up on bottled or other drinking water.

"We can assure you that the supply of good-quality drinking water through our council-owned business, Fitzroy River Water, will continue to supply good-quality drinking water, " he said.

"However, I still would urge our residents to make sure they stock up on plentiful supplies of clean drinking water and bottled water, or they have water in their homes stocked up in the event that there is any other crisis if the situation should worsen."
