Acclaimed director Wayne Blair given honorary doctorate

ACCLAIMED director and former CQUniversity student Wayne Blair was awarded with an honorary doctorate in the arts at yesterday's CQUniversity graduation ceremony.

The Rockhampton-born man, who shot to fame after the success of 2012 movie The Sapphires, was also the guest speaker at the ceremony.

The Sapphires was Mr Blair's debut feature film, and won him 11 AACTA awards including Best Director and Best Film.
