Webber boost to Capras in clash against Ipswich

RUSSELL Webber returns to the Rockhampton Leagues Club Capras ranks this weekend as the side takes on Ipswich Jets at Browne Park.

The Rockhampton winger was sorely missed in last week's encounter with Wynnum Manly Seagulls where the Capras went down 40-10.

Capras' coach Jason Hetherington said Webber would provide extra strength and spark in the clash against Ipswich on Saturday night.

"The only real change will be Russell Webber coming back in onto the wing," Hetherington said.

"Webber was out for personal reasons last week unfortunately for us too. We certainly missed his size and ability out there.

"Wynnum were a very physical side and I think it would have suited Russell's game."

With Webber back in the squad, Marlon Doak and Clinton Mooney have been left to fight over the final position on the bench.

Hetherington said he was yet to finalise his 18th man but was leaning towards speedy youngster Doak.

"Doaky (Marlon Doak) will drop back to the bench with Clint Mooney in 18th man and we'll make a final decision later in the week on who will come in onto the bench," he said.

"They way I'm looking at it at the moment, it could be a game that would suit Doaky; it will be a little bit open, but I'll make that final decision."

In order to secure a victory this week, Hetherington said the Capras needed to improve their discipline.

"I'm confident for this weekend. Ipswich are a good side, they're a little bit flamboyant; they're very fast and throw the ball around a lot," he said.

"Discipline-wise in our defence, our middle-third guys really have to be on their job this weekend. They (Ipswich) tend to attack that middle third."
