Matthews gets her fans going at Central Queensland gigs

THE Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton region embraced Wendy Matthews with open arms last weekend as she performed to a packed house at Yeppoon Town Hall.

Local musicians Ryan Conway and Kate Leahy joined her, doing their soulful songs to get the crowd going.

Rockhampton woman Va Tuilovoni got the special privilege of performing Fridays Child with the award-winning singer, after winning a competition to sing on stage with Matthews during the show.

At the Rockhampton Leagues Club on Sunday, Matthews, who is behind the 90s hits, The Day You Went Away and Nobody but You, was well received by fans.
