Wet weekend coming for Rockhampton and CQ
IT is shaping up to be a wet weekend for Rockhampton, with falls up to 25mm predicted for the region, and up to 50mm for parts of Central Queensland.
Damian Ousley from the Bureau of Meteorology's Rockhampton office said the Rocky region would "catch the side" of heavy falls hitting the state's south-east.
He said the rain, which is expected to hit on Friday, would start to clear by Sunday.
"It will probably be a wet one," he said.
"On Saturday there is a high chance for rain with a chance of a thunderstorm.
"But Monday to Wednesday we are looking fine."
Come Monday, Mr Ousley said temperatures were expected to drop to around 12 degrees overnight.
