Rain a spoilsport

RAIN has already caused havoc with sporting fixtures this weekend.

Sunday's cricket schedule in the Rockhampton region is in the balance.

But tomorrow's A- and reserve-grade matches have already been called off due to the state of the pitches.

It seems unlikely that there will be any play on Sunday but officials will make a decision later today.

The organisers of tomorrow's scheduled evening of speedway at Rockhampton Showgrounds bowed to the weather yesterday and abandoned the event, which would have seen the return of solo bikes.

Racing went ahead at Callaghan Park yesterday despite the heavy conditions on the track.
