WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: about the Rockhampton Show this week

The annual Rockhampton Show will get underway at the Rocky Showgrounds on Wednesday with thousands expected to pour through the gates over the three days of action and entertainment.

With Thursday being the Rockhampton Show public holiday, local residents can enjoy a day off work or school to check out all the event has to offer.

Scheduled entertainment this year includes The Drafting Yard Bar and Grill, an extended version of Machinery Alley, Apiculture (honey and bee) displays, pigeon shows, the all-new Kids Fun Area, plenty of rides, delicious food, agriculture and much, much more.

OPENING TIMES:

Wednesday 8.30am to 9pm

Thursday 8.30am to 9pm

Friday 8.30am to 10pm.

TICKETS:

You can pre-purchase tickets online at www.rockhamptonshow.com.au or at Garricks Camera House in Stockland Rockhampton and at the Show Society Office.

Tickets are also available at the gate.

Adults - $15

Children (aged 5 to 15) - $8

Concession - $12

Family (2 adults, 2 children aged 5 to 15) - $42

ROAD closures will be in place until Monday, June 20, to accommodate the 2016 Rockhampton Show.

Roads affected will include:

Lion Creek Road (between Hall St and Exhibition Rd)

Exhibition Road (between Lion Creek Road and Wandal Road)

- Western direction closed for the duration of the show.

- Fully closed Thursday June 16.

Access to parking will be from North Street end of Lion Creek Road.

Parking will be available at the Rockhampton State High School oval.
