WHAT’S ON: Check out the New Year’s Eve events near you

Have you got your plans sorted for New Year’s Eve? From kids carnivals to karaoke, events are being hosted across the region to welcome the new year.

Whether you want to have a quiet dinner or dance the night away, there is something to suit everyone this year.

Emerald

  • Dance the night away with at the New Years Eve Rainbow Party at the Irish Village. Dress in your brightest colours and enjoy music, dancing, a guest DJ and plenty of giveaways. The 18+ event starts at 6pm with free entry.
  • Spend the final hours of 2020 at the Maraboon Tavern where the drinks will be flowing and the live music will be pumping. Book a table by calling on 07 4982 0999.
  • Don’t miss the New Year’s Eve Kids Carnival at the Emerald Star. From 5.30 to 9.30pm there will be a jumping castle, loads of games and plenty of prizes. Every child who dresses up for the occasion in a carnival themed costume will also receive a free kids meal. Book now by calling on 07 4982 1422.
  • The Emerald Star will also host the New Year’s Eve Pardis Gras Carnival for all the adults. Get your glitz on and say goodbye to 2020 with a bang. Food specials and bar snacks will be available.

Blackwater

  • Celebrate the new year at the Blackwater Country Club. Get dressed up and belt out your favourite tunes with Okey Dokey Karaoke. There will be prizes for the best dressed male and female and plenty of lucky door prizes. Food and cocktails will be available and the courtesy bus will be running until closing at 2am on January 1.

Moranbah

  • Head to the Moranbah Workers Club to welcome the first hours of 2021. The club will be open from 9am on December 31 to 1am on January 1.
  • The Moranbah Golf Club has cancelled its New Year’s Eve celebrations due to a mechanical failure in the coldroom.

Gemfields

  • Enjoy a night full of food, drinks and plenty of fun at the New Royal Hotel at Rubyvale. The courtesy bus will be running from 5.30 to 7.30pm for anyone in the Gemfields. It will be running to and from Sapphire from 9.30pm to 12.30am. Call to book by calling 07 4985 4754.
