All you need to know for Rockhampton River Festival parking

IT'S time to organise your parking plan for the weekend as the town gears up for the Rockhampton River Festival.

The four-day festival will take over the Rockhampton riverfront from tomorrow with music, art, shops, food and fun.

The CBD offers plenty of parking space and organisers are asking festival goers to review road closures, parking access and drop-off points.

Manager of regional promotions Sarah Reeves said a festival of this size might require a slight walk to the riverside, but plenty of taxi ranks and drop-off points were available for those unable to walk distances. "There is ample parking available around the area for everyone," she said.

"There are dedicated disabled parks within the CBD area, and these parks should be left for those who really need it. To assist the elderly there will be a drop-off point on William St out the front of the Zodiac."

IF YOU GO

Taxi ranks will be available at two locations; the main rank in Denham St will operate as normal, and a second rank will be set up in William St out the front of the Capricornian.

Street parking is available along the following streets: Derby, East, William, Bolsover, Denham, Alma, Archer, Victoria Pde, Cambridge St.

Car parks are available at: Quay St upper car park off Derby St; Victoria Pde car park; Corner of Alma and Derby Sts; Pilbeam Theatre; and Kern Arcade, Bolsover St.

The two car parks in Quay St along the river bank will not be open for parking.
