ELECTION 2016: Who will represent you?
THERE are three down and four to go in the councillor counts for Rockhampton.
Divisions one, three and four have been declared by the electoral commission, with Cr Ellen Smith, Cr Tony Williams and Cr Rose Swadling retaining their seats with convincing wins over their opponents.
Tomorrow, counting of preference votes will begin, with all eyes on division seven.
Other divisions have clearer margins, but could still pull in a surprise winner depending on preference deals done between candidates before the election.
In division two Cr Neil Fisher is sitting on the top with a strong lead over Team McMillan's Tory Acton, who sits more than 500 votes behind Cr Fisher.
Division five's fight came down to two candidates, with Cr Cherie Rutherford likely to retain her seat.
Team McMillan's Bob Pleash is sitting in second place with 28.50% of the vote while Cr Rutherford has 41.68%.
So far the only seat to get a new face is division six following Cr Greg Belz's decision not to run again.
In division six we are likely to see Team McMillan's Drew Wickerson take the win.
The fight for division seven has been well publicised, and Cr Stephen Schwarten who ran with the Team McMillan team and Donna Kirkland are still too close to call.
Preference votes will definitely decide the future in that division, while others may not see a sway from the current standings due to the extent of the leads.
