Why Not give winch truck a bit of a bash at end of year?
DAVE Casey could not have asked for a better finish to his 2013 4WD season.
Coming off the back of his success at the four-day Powercruise 43 contest, Stockers With Lockers driver Casey teamed up with Reagan Case, Mitchell Horn, Mark Thomas, Luke Ingram and Ethan Ciesiolka for the annual Lowmead 3 Car Challenge.
Rockhampton's Casey and his Why Not teammates dominated the winch truck event, winning four stages and picking up second place in a few others to claim overall victory.
As it was the last event of the year, Casey said it was a pleasing finish to his season.
"It was really good to get the win," he said.
"It was a three-car challenge and the team of three had to get through the course as quickly as they could without any penalties.
"Overall, it was a good weekend and we had no breakages."
Casey said the event, which attracted 70 cars from across Queensland and New South Wales, was no walk in the park and it was an overall team effort that was behind Why Not's success.
"It was a pretty tough competition and there was a good calibre of cars from across Queensland and NSW," he said.
"Every person in the team on the weekend had their advantages and disadvantages but we all worked really well together and it was a real team effort.
"It's a really good local event which was really well run and attracted a lot of spectators."
