Win one for the books with colourful Emmaus library design

HUTCHINSON Builders have broken the mould when it comes to building traditional libraries.

Cushioned areas, modern architecture and coloured floor-to-ceiling windows have proven to be a winner.

Hutchinson Builders' library project at Emmaus College in Rockhampton has seen them take out a state Master Builders award, winning the Health and Education Facilities up to $5 million category.

They weren't the only CQ winners, with ADCO Constructions recognised in the Sporting and Community Service Facilities over $20 million category for their work on the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre and Office Redevelopment project.

Master Builders' Central Queensland regional manager Dennis Bryant said the awards reinforced how exceptional their standards are right across the region.

"The Master Builders State Housing and Construction Awards carry a sterling reputation as the most prestigious industry event in Queensland, and the achievements of both Hutchinson Builders and ADCO Constructions truly demonstrates their impeccable talent and expertise," Mr Bryant said.

The best from each state will compete in the National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards.
