Winds play havoc with electricity supply of 1250 users

WILD winds tangled powerlines yesterday and blacked out 1250 electricity users in West Rockhampton and The Range.

Ergon Energy communications manager Bob Pleash said it happened at 2.30pm. Power was back on at 3.25pm. At 3.30pm they located a burnt-out connection on Eton St that had cut power to 372 power consumers.

Crews went to Gracemere after a tree fell on lines at Hutching St, affecting 133 users. Power was expected back on later last night.
