Witnesses to footpath murder to recall horror
A MAN accused of murdering a man, and attempting to murder another will appear in court in January next year.
Sebastiano Garofalo was charged with one count each of murder, attempted murder and grievous bodily harm after it was alleged he stabbed two Rockhampton men, aged 32 and 33, killing one and seriously injuring the other.
Mr Garofalo's case appeared before the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday for a mention where a lawyer appeared on his behalf.
The alleged incident occurred outside the Ozcare Rockhampton homeless men's hostel in Alma St on the morning of September 15, 2015, tragically killing 32-year-old Aaron Flenady and leaving the 33-year-old man with life threatening injuries.
The court heard Mr Garofalo will be required to attend court for a committal hearing in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 15 where eight witnesses will be cross examined.
