Woman, 31, killed in highway crash north of Gympie

A WOMAN, 31, has been killed after her car left the Wide Burnett Highway north of Gympie just before 12.30pm today, where it struck a tree.

Police believe the woman was travelling west on the highway when her car left the road and hit the tree near the intersection of Percival Rd.

The Chatsworth woman was alone in the car.

She had died when emergency services arrived.

The crash is now being investigated by the Wide Bay Forensic Crash Unit.
