Woman charged after drug lab swoop

POLICE have discovered a suspected amphetamines laboratory in a North Rockhampton house.

It’s the second potentially dangerous drug lab to be found in the city in less than a week.

Police raided the home in Elphinstone Street at 6pm on Sunday.

Glassware found in the home is being examined by the Illicit Laboratory Investigation Team, who flew-up from Brisbane yesterday.

A woman, 28, has been charged with possessing items used in connection with a crime.

Police said more charges may follow as their investigation continues.

Last Tuesday police found a suspected abandoned drug lab near Crescent Lagoon School in a storage shed.

Police are still trying to locate the shed’s tenant, who abandoned the dangerous chemicals.
