Woman rescued after 8m fall into quarry

A WOMAN has fallen 8m into a waterlogged quarry in Brisbane's south.

The 22-year-old fell into Karawatha quarry at Stretton about 10am.

Paramedics and the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were on scene.

A rescue helicopter was deployed to the area and the woman has been transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital with arm and leg injuries.

The disused quarry sits among 1000ha of bushland in Karawatha Forest.
