Woman with no criminal record caught with sticky fingers
SHE had not so much as a blemish on her criminal record, but when she saw this product she just had to "grab it”.
A 43-year-old woman pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today to one count of indecently dealing with shop goods after she stole a packet of painkillers.
The court heard on February 1, the woman went to Malouf Pharmacy on Musgrave St, North Rockhampton and walked around for approximately 20 minutes before approaching the prescription counter.
She told a staff member her doctor had faxed a script through and while they were looking for it, the woman walked behind the counter and put a packet of Nurofen painkillers in her handbag.
The woman then told the staff member she would make further enquires with her doctor about the script and left the store
When asked by magistrate Cameron Press if she had anything to say about the matter, the woman said she "didn't plan” on stealing them, she just "saw them and grabbed them”.
Mr Press fined the woman $250 with no conviction recorded.
