WOMEN IN BUSINESS: Speech pathology opens new opportunities
SPEECH pathologists are here to help your children reach their potential in life and education by working with their communication skills, including talking, social skills, listening, reading and writing.
This is reflected in the motto of Kathy J Wooler Speech Therapy: "Speaking and reading well opens the door to your future".
Kathy commented, "many people are still unaware of what our profession can offer you and your family".
Kathy Wooler and her team have been offering their services in Rockhampton and the CQ region for over 30 years. She explained, "we can help with young children who are not talking or slow to talk and children who cannot be understood when they talk".
"We also work with children who mispronounce words, and those with stuttering, listening issues and problems with socialising with other children," she said.
"For Prep-aged children to Grade 12 students we work with difficulties with learning to read and spell, listening in class, reading comprehension and the ability to express themselves in writing."
A more specialised area which Kathy works in is with teens and adults who have problems with their voice for speaking and/or singing. All the speech pathologists who work with Kathy agree it should be fun.
"We love making speech therapy an enjoyable process for the children and their parents," she said.
"It is extremely rewarding to see them progress and become successful in their speaking and learning. Our aim is to help them on the journey to reaching their potential."
