Woorabinda community without clean water since 8am Tuesday

RESIDENTS of Woorabinda are feeling the heat a little more than usual this week with the town's water supply out of action.

The Central Queensland Aboriginal community has been without clean water since about 8am on Tuesday morning after lightning damaged the town's water treatment plant.

Childcare centres, businesses and aged car homes have been forced to close with about 1000 people forced to live from rain water tanks, bottled water and creek water.

Woorabinda Aboriginal Shire Council is working to fix the problem.
