Yazmindi leaves on plane for shot at Texas fame

COUNTRY music talent Yasmin Morris flies to Texas in the United States today to further her singing career.

The Gympie State High School captain, who sings under the name Yazmindi, was spotted by American singer/songwriter Robyn Ludwick while Robyn was recording and touring with Bill Chambers last year.

"They saw me perform at the Black Mountain Unplugged festival in far north Queensland last August where I released my CD," Yasmin said.

"She fell in love with my music and style and said she really felt that my raw talent and true love for music was very special."

The 17-year-old Australian Institute of Country Music talent said Texas was the live music capital of the world where Robyn was involved in mentoring programs as well as nurturing young artists in their song writing, touring and recording phase of their career.

"She particularly focuses on female artists who are hand picked so it's a privilege to get this opportunity to fly to another country and work with someone who believes in what I do," Yasmin said.

"I will be performing at South by Southwest, known to be one of the biggest festivals of its kind world wide. I heard that it's very indie. So I suppose Yazmindi will fit in well," she laughed.

During her five weeks in the States, Yazmindi will write and collaborate with other artists.

She will visit studios, radio stations and travel around as much as she can.

"I can't wait," she said.

Anyone wanting to keep track of Yazmindi's travels can like her Facebook page or Instagram account.
