Yellow? We need more volunteers

YELLOW Door Books and Gifts are putting the call out for volunteers.

It's a busy time for staff and volunteers of Yellow Door as they have been preparing stock ready for the school holidays.

The Yeppoon store sells quality second-hand and new books as well as locally made art and giftware.

There is a large range of second-hand children's and young adult titles that are quickly snapped up during the holiday seasons.

Owned and operated by Home Support Association, Yellow Door and the not-for-profit disability service openly acknowledge that it is only through the generous support of a team of volunteers that the business continues.

HSA operations manager Robyn Death said their volunteers were highly valued members of the Yellow Door team and were integral to its operations and ongoing success.

"Proceeds from this business assist in increasing the participation of people with a disability within the community," Ms Death said.

Yellow Door is currently recruiting volunteers to help at the Queen St store in Yeppoon.

There is no prerequisite for the role, but a genuine love of books or customer service skills would be useful.

As the store also offers internet and printing services, computer knowledge would be a bonus.
