Yeppen North back on track after heavy rain and floods

THE Yeppen North Project is getting back on track, after a minor setback due to last month's heavy rainfall.

CQ regional director with Transport and Main Roads, Terry Hill, said: "After the water went down from the flood, there was minimal damage to the works themselves.

"There was loss of equipment and materials. The compound and the office area had been flooded, so there's a fair bit of cleaning up to do.

"Work has recommenced, and asphalt will be placed on the Upper Dawson Rd intersection this week."

Mr Hill said the project had only been delayed for one month, due to the rain and flood in January.

The $85 million project is set to be completed early next year.
