50-year-old choral society donates for Anzac commemoration

THE gift of giving.

That was the essence of the Yeppoon Choral Society's charity concert, called 1915, which raised $2763 for the Emu Park Centenary of Anzac Commemorative Project.

In his acceptance speech, representative of the centenary project Phil Luzzi commended the efforts of Mayor Bill Ludwig in his efforts to get the project on wheels.

Stage one of the project is expected to be completed before Anzac centenary celebrations next month.

The commemorative project consists of a memorial walkway, winding its way around the foreshore of Emu Park from the RSL building to the Singing Ship, and on to Fisherman's Beach.

This year marks 50 years for the choral society.

The choral society started its practices for their July performances of "Cats", this week at the Uniting Church Yeppoon. Anyone interested in being a cat can contact the Mirror.
