Yeppoon resident votes, hopes for more outdoor activities
A LOVER of all things outdoors, Yeppoon's Kris Dale says he hopes the new Livingstone Shire Council will offer more outdoor activities for the community.
"It would be great to see more activities for young people and families and things to do so people aren't sitting around inside all of the time," the 26-year-old said.
Kris was one of thousands across the Livingstone Shire to put their pencil to paper at the polls today, and have their say on who should represent their community.
Originally from the Sunshine Coast, Kris said he moved to the region for its laidback lifestyle as well as great fishing, boating and camping.
"I voted for candidates who really want to push the Great Keppel Island redevelopment ahead," he said.
Voting closes at 6pm tonight.
