THE Rotary club of Yeppoon has appointed their new president, Heath Henwood.

The Yeppoon Rotary club has been one of the coast premier service clubs for almost 60 years. Involved in projecting including Birdwood estate, men's shed and ICrab Classic, as well as supporting Youth exchange and development programs.

Heath Henwood is a long-time local, who has been involved in local community groups for over 17 years. He has a passion for working with people to assist them to fulfil their potential and reach their dreams.

At the recent hand over evening Heath set a vision for the club, to make a difference, in the local community and across the world.

He said that "the Yeppoon Rotary Club will continue to be built upon the strong heritage of the club in serving the community, particularly the youth through exchange student programs, National Science Youth Forum, Driver training, youth and adults leadership development”.

Rotary is a global network with 1.2 million members and community leaders who come together to make positive, lasting change in communities at home and abroad.

Yeppoon Rotary President, Heath Henwood, indicated that as well as supporting the local community, the club will make a difference international through club activities and projects.

In the past year, Rotary Yeppoon raised over $15,000 towards the eradication of Polio internationally.
