Mum follows love for pretty things

ALEISHA Balle is a mum, a wife and a business owner.

She's one of many women today who are taking charge and following their passion.

Ms Balle is the proud owner of Pretty My Love, a business specialising in pretty and vintage styling for parties and ceremonies.

Previously in human relations for about 10 years, Ms Balle wanted a change after she had her baby boy last year.

"I went everywhere with work ... For a little while I was based in Perth, but flying to different sites," Ms Balle said.

"It's just not the suitable lifestyle to have when you have a little boy ... and it certainly wasn't where my passion was."

Based in Agnes Water, Ms Balle now travels across Central Queensland, and even to Brisbane, to provide her styling service.

"I saw an opportunity to put my love for pretty things and delicious presentation into practice," she said.

"I work around my son. I'm on the computer at night when he's asleep ... It definitely doesn't feel like work, that's for sure."

As the business grows, which also includes a prop hire component and candy/high tea buffets, Ms Balle is focusing on building the styling aspect.

"My inspiration is from Style Me Pretty. It's like the wedding bible. I guess (for the business name) I wanted something that would be reflected of 'pretty', as well as incorporate the target market with those words.

Like most new businesses, the online opportunities of social media and company websites are a huge boost in getting exposure.
