QUEENSLAND Father of the Year 2015 nominations are open until Friday, July 17, for the public to recommend a praiseworthy dad.

If you know an outstanding dad then we want to hear about them, whether it's your dad, someone else's, or an incredible father-figure within your community.

The Queensland Father of the Year competition identifies and honours outstanding fathers for their exceptional commitment to raising their children or for their exemplary contribution to the development of children in the community.

Scripture Union Queensland (SU QLD) invites children and community members from all over the state to nominate dads who are seen to be excelling in fatherhood.

Many fantastic fathers are currently out there throughout Queensland living selflessly for their children and the children of others, and SU QLD want to recognise them for their constant work.

Nominations can be made in a few minutes at qldfatheroftheyear.org.au.

The 2015 Queensland Father of the Year will win five nights accommodation at Sea World Resort and Water Park along with unlimited entry to Movieworld, Seaworld and Wet'n'Wild for the whole family for the duration of the stay.

Just simply by nominating a deserving dad, who plays a significant role in raising their children and furthering the development of children in their community, you could win an Apple iPad Mini.

Throughout the state, six regional winners are selected from those nominated and the State Winner is announced at the Queensland Father of the Year Award Ceremony on Wednesday, September 2.

Nominations close on July 17 and can be submitted online at qldfatheroftheyear.org.au, or by post via the downloadable form available from the website.
