Youth on robbery count

A SECOND teenager has been charged with armed robbery of a Richardson Road convenience store.

Police charged a 17-year-old youth on Saturday night in relation to a robbery which allegedly involved firearms and a baseball bat as weapons.

It is alleged he was one of three to demand cash and cigarettes from the Oasis Convenience Store, on the corner of Richardson Road and Bruigom Street at 8pm last Monday.

Two of the bandits hid their faces behind pieces of clothing while a third wore a hood over his head.

A 14-year-old boy was the first of three suspects police charged with the robbery on Wednesday.

He was refused bail in Rockhampton Magistrates Court and held in juvenile detention on remand.

The 17-year-old is due to appear in court today.

A third person of interest has not yet been apprehended and police are continuing their investigations.
